The Contest
The folks at Overnight Prints have awesomely offered a pack of 500 free business cards to one of my lovely readers.
I’ve used them to print postcards for show promo and stuff before (see above photo) & I’ve always been super happy with the quality.

i think i have to pick the madonna inn redux post, in all its delicious bouncy and red and wall papered gloriousness — and the one that drew me out of lurking (i still need to see this place one day!). http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2009/02/madonna-inn-redux/
this one: http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2007/08/i-dreamed-about-being-an-eccentric-heiress-attending-parties-in-the-hollywood-hills-in-progress/
as a budding illustrator myself i love the progress posts and seeing how the magic happens!
ooh yay!

because of absolute gorgeousness; still makes me pause & skip a beat.

Love the NY post, because I was just there and missed the Tim Burton opening by mere days and was so very distraught about it. Anddddd because I loved the SWEET DREAMS SECURITY work too!
Because it slays me thoroughly, even today, and — alongside “26” — marked the beginning of an amazing run of songwriting from you:

This post is neat because it explains the different pieces of your redesign, how they work, and why it all works together. Getting developers to explain how they do things (especially with redesigns) is an interesting trend I hope to see more of in our industry
My definite favorite post of all time:
http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2008/08/weve-been-outed-or-that-metafilter-thing/
I love how you described identity and the simplicity of your site in that it’s just who you are.
Plus, how can KNUCKLE TATS not be a favorite?
Oh, the New York post, of course! http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2009/12/new-york/
It made me miss the homelands and want to run back quick up north to see all my friends again.
My favorites are — your coverage of the Tim Burton exhibit! I so wanted to go — and anything revolving around Moleskine.
I gotta go with this one — http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2008/08/weve-been-outed-or-that-metafilter-thing/
Because of this line -
“The fact is that I love myself, and the best thing I can do is be myself wherever I go!”
I love yourself too.
And because knuckle tattoos are DOPE.
The post when you revealed your super secret project– a jewelry line! I felt so inspired.
I like this post best, because the idea is simple, little and heartfelt. And because you and I took the last two tabs.
This one, of course!

I’d argue this is my favorite (or perhaps your most memorable) post for me from the past few months here. It’s the first post I had thought of when you prompted the question.
Oh of course it is http://thisisstar.com/blog/?s=new york&x=0&y=0 because it gave me such flashbacks to eating at panna (and also allowed me to remember the name). Remind me to tell you about the Fugu Sake sometime.
I loved your Madonna Inn Redux post. http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2009/02/madonna-inn-redux/
The first time I saw that place was on the Travel Channel. And then I saw it on the Girls Next Door. And then I saw your post. Something was telling me that I really needed to go that place. I have yet to but it would be (obviously) an amazing place to have a photo shoot. I’m a freelance photographer from Rhode Island trying to make something out of herself and would love the opportunity to shoot there one day. Who knows if that will ever happen but a girl can dream.

Actually its this recent one, because of the mix of the beautiful art, the typewriter performance and one of my most favorite songs of all time ever– though I feel tender and protective about the re-interpretation.

OK I MIGHT BE BIAS, but that was a lovely WEEK we spent together bonding and making videos and we did this shoot with Kristin and we raged and at a lot of pad thai. Seriously best week ever. I love you and miss you very much.
Kafka in Progress! Even the title. Or, especially that. http://thisisstar.com/blog/index.php/2008/06/kafka-in-progress/
